All my faves...

Hi everyone,

I've been getting my craft on again so have got a few cards to share today.

Firstly, I made a card to enter into the challenges going on over at both Make the day Special, and Mama Elephant.  I think we all know I LOVE the folk over at Make The Day Special and all they do, and of course they carry one of my most faves ever ever, Mama Elephant, so thought I would incorporate the two challenges for ultimate enjoyment :)

So the challenge this month at Make the Day Special, is this sketch...

And the the challenge going on over at Mama Elephant this month, is 'Paper piecing and Thank-you'...

And here's my card...

So I decided to turn the sketch on it's side and take it form there.  I used the little rabbit from Mama Elephant's, 'Carnival Cupcakes' set, (Oh my, this set is just unreal cute!) and stamped it out on a few different patterned papers from the Basic Grey pad, 'Picadilly'.  I then cut them out and pieced all the different elements together.  It's fair to say paper piecing can be a delicate operation, especially when dealing with such tiny pieces like the bunny's little paw pads, however, I love the look of it and think it is well worth the fiddlyness (not a word but you know what I mean!) to achieve the over all result.  My background is also made up of papers from the same pad, and I pieced them all together by in-laying several die cuts.  I used Mama Elephant's 'Landscape Trio Creative Cuts', and this lovely stitched cloud from Lawn Fawn's 'Spring Shower' die set.  My sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's 'Chit Chat', and is heat embossed in 'Liquid Platinum' powder.
I wanted my little paper-pieced bunnies to be the main attraction on my card, so didn't add much else to keep it sweet and simple.

I hope you like it :) As always, please feel free to leave a comment.

Thanks for your time.

  5. I love what you did here! Especially how you lined up the patterns with the stamp image...almost makes the bunnies look like they are stitched and made with fabric. Thanks for joining the fun at Mama Elephant and Me! I totally understand the word "fiddlyness", by the way;)
