Little Doggy Noisy Birthday Jam

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week, I've got a little doggy parade making a whole load of birthday noise...

...using Mama Elephant's, off the scale adorable, Little Dog Agenda.

Now it's no secret I am absolutely, unashamedly, unabashedly dog obsessed.  I'm that girl who will cross a road if it means a quick kiss off a puppy.  So when this set was released, my eyes were on beanstalks and I fell instantly in love!  I mean what's better than a dog?  Well I'll tell you what's better...twenty dogs!  Twenty cute, adorable, fun little puppies all packed on to one sheet of stamps!  Amazing.
So anytime I get a set like this I look through all the images and look for a story.  I try to find images that link together to help me create a scene in my head,  ...and I think it's pretty indicative of who I am that the loud noisy birthday band parade is what leapt out to me!

I started my card by stamping out my cute pooches (and the bottom half of my sentiment) onto my card panel and clear heat embossing.  I then added, freehand, some little sprigs of grass to ground my parade.  I wanted to create a sweet and simple scene for my card but I also knew I wanted to add a little extra interest by adding a background stamp to my, well, background (:/), so I masked off my images and sentiment then took My Favourite Things Sketched Chevron Background and stamped it across my panel, not taking too much care around the edges so it gently faded out.  I then set about colouring my images using Zig Real Brush Markers, (I apologise that I use these all the time but I am 100% hooked on them, they're just so easy to use and incredibly effective!).  Once my images were dry I moved on to colouring my background, again, using my Zigs, taking care to leave a space around my sentiment.

I then finished up my sentiment, which is from Mama Elephant's Monster Jam and works perfect with my scene, by stamping the first line out onto black card and white heat embossing.  I also did this with the little 'Rock On' speech bubble from Mama Elephant's Rock and Paws and added both pieces to my scene using foam tape.
I finished by covering my scene and sentiment and adding a few flicks of ink across my background and there you have it.

I really hope you like it.
As always everything I used is linked below so be sure to have a peek.

See you next week.

Monster Love

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week I've got some monster love for you.

Using the brilliant Monster Jam from Mama Elephant.

I LOVE this set from Mama Elephant but can sometimes find it hard to make a card featuring just one set when composed of such small images despite how amazing those images are, so thought I'd give it a whirl and see where it took me.
This little guy spoke out to me, with his 'booming' heart and his adorable expression, I just knew I wanted to use him as my main feature as he definitely has enough character to hold his own.

My card was very simple to make; I simply stamped out my little monster creature and coloured him using my Zig Real Colour Brush Markers then fussy cut.  I stamped my sentiment along the bottom of my panel and clear heat embossed.  I then went to town on my background using a product called Brushos (Google them - awesome product).  I wanted to create an explosion as if my little monster's heart couldn't hold the love any more and had to burst out all over.  You could use so many different products to create the same look; you could use your inks or your Zigs mixed with water, or a background stencil or stamp.  Once my background was dry I added a few flicks of black to add a little extra interest.
I cut my panel using Lawn Fawn's Stitched Rectangles and framed with black card.
My adorable monster is adhered using foam tape to help him stand out and covered in a layer of Glossy Accents to finish him off.

I finished my design with a scattering of enamel dots and sequins and there you have it.
Hopefully this card shows that even the smallest images can still pack a real punch and create quite the impression.

As always, everything I used is linked below so be sure to have a peek.

See you next week.

A quick cute rock out!

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week, I've got a quick & cute card suitable for any budding rockstars...

Using Mama Elephant's Rocks and Paws.

I started by die-cutting a circle from masking paper, and ink blending through it, in yellow, to create my 'spotlight'.  I then stamped out this awesome little puppy and a couple of speakers, coloured them using colour pencils, and fussy-cut.  I'm pretty obsessed with my little doggy, so used him as inspiration :)

This set is so much fun.  You get six different doggies, all of which are sooooo cute...and even this little David Bowie inspired lightening bolt to add on to them if you so wish, which of course...I do!
I added a semi-circle of black card, and a strip of silver to build up a stage and adhered in place.

I decided to use a sentiment built-up from Mama Elephant's Monster Jam set as it just fit so perfectly, so stamped that straight onto my card in black.  I added a few little splatters of watered down black ink across my panel, and popped my little scene on top using foam tape.
I finished by embellishing with a scattering of gems coz you know...rockstar haha!

I really hope you like, as always, everything used is linked below.

See you next week.

Make some noise!

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week, I'm making some real monster noise!

Using the cutest little monsters I ever did see from Mama Elephant's Monster Jam.

This set is from Mama Elephant's latest release, and is like nothing I already owned, so I just had to have it.  There's a few little monsters in the set, all doing something different, with a bunch of sentiments to go alongside them.  Sooooo cute!

I started by lightly pencilling a grid onto my watercolour card as a guide to stamp my monsters, I then took the wee little cutie, who is just kind of standing, and repeatedly stamped him out in all but two of my grid spaces.  I then took this awesome little monster, who's clearly the fun guy in the pack, and stamped him out in my spare space.  I love this repeated image kind of design as it's really simple but looks pretty modern and still packs a punch.

I coloured my images using Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Pens with water, making sure my main noisy little dude really stood out in bright colours.  My sentiment is built up form the same Monster Jam set, and is white heat embossed on black card, then simply cut into strips and added to my card using foam adhesive.  I didn't want to knock the balance of my design off, so skipped any embellishments and left it there.

I enjoyed this design so much, I made another card in the exact same way, using Mama Elephant's New Family, and a sentiment from My Favourite Things Some Bunny, so thought I would quickly share that here too....

I really hope you like them.
As always, everything used is linked below.

See you next week.
