Soft, Sleepy Sparkle...

Hi everybody,

I'd love to share a card I have made for the, always lovely, Avery Elle I heart U Challenge Blog, where this time round, it's all about the 'Sparkle'.  Ooh Sparkle, who doesn't love a bit of Sparkle?

And here's my card...

I made my card from vellum to create a nice contrast with the 'Sparkle', and kept things pretty sweet and simple.

I used Avery Elle's 'Furry Friends' set, and started by stamping these little cute fish bones all over my vellum card base, and heat embossing in Silver Sparkle powder.  I also covered a separate piece of card in the same powder, and cut my two panels form the Avery Elle 'Custom Panel' dies from it.  I then stamped out this gorgeous, sleepy cat and coloured using Warm Grey Copics.  I did a little 'double embossing', by stamping out my sentiment, from the same Furry Friends set, onto my already heat embossed panel, and embossing once more, in Black Sparkle powder.

I glued all my bits to my card using clear dimensional adhesive tape so it looks neat and tidy from the inside.

And there you have it.  A pretty sweet and simple sparkly card :)

Wishing on a Starry Rainbow...

I'd love to share a card I have made for the current challenge going on over at the delightful AE I Heart U Challenge Blog.  And this time around, the theme is 'Rainbow'.

And here's where i went with it...

So, obviously, I went with a really CAS design.  

I started by tracing around a small circle die, and stamping out this wee little cute star from the Storybook set several times around it, rubbing out my pencil marks afterwards.  And then for the fun part...I got to play with my brand spanking new Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Pens...eeeeek!!!  These bad boys seem to have taking the craft world by storm of late, so, obviously, I HAD to have them.  Now, you can see how small these wee little stars are, so by 'play', I guess I mean more 'unwrap them and hold them lovingly for a while', but the colours are beautiful and intense so worked wonderfully for the 'rainbow' of stars I wanted to create.  Once I'd coloured my stars, I coated them in glossy accents, and gave each one a small sprinkle of glitter,..because rainbows are beautiful and magical...and should always be covered in glitter :)  I stamped out my sentiment, also from the Storybook set, and heat embossed in Black Sparkle powder.  I finished by matting my panel onto black card, and adding to my card base with foam adhesive.

And there you have it, a Clean and Simple. rainbow of stars.

Foiled again...

I'd love to share a card I have made for this month's challenge over at the delightful Avery Elle Challenge Blog, which this time round, is 'Stripes'.

And here's my card...

So stripes are a pretty bold statement all on their own, but I thought, why not go all out and add some foil into the mix!  Go bold or go home, right?  So I kept the design really simple, and the stripes really, well, bold.  I used various sizes of double sided tape to adhere my foil to my front panel, leaving a space along the centre in which to place my greeting.  I stamped my sentiment, and a load of these cute stripey flowers and leaves, (what a coincidence :) ), from Avery Elle's, 'So Happy' set, and heat embossed in Gold Sparkle powder.  I then cut all my pieces out, and adhered them to my front panel, adding a wee heat embossed heart to finish off.  And, pretty much, that was that.

It's all about the foil at the moment, so I was really glad to give it a whirl.  I'm not gonna lie, it can be tricky to work with, and marks really easy, but I kind of like the look that creates, and I love how unashamedly flamboyant foil is!
