Super cute sticky note.

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week, I’m making a cute birthday memo...

...using the cute as a button ‘Sticky Note’ from Mama Elephant.

I love any set that contains ‘peek-a-boo’ critters, there’s just something so uber cute about their little noses peeking over a page edge or similar. It makes my heart melt and that’s all it takes for me to snap up a set! I’ve also had a massive stationary obsession since I was tiny so this set was ticking all my boxes!

I started by stamping out and colouring my wee sneaky peeky critter and fussy cutting. I really wanted my sticky note to look like a, well, a sticky note and didn’t have the exact colour so used, yup you’ve guessed it...sticky note paper! It’s obviously very thin and I wanted it to look like a stack with the cute memo on top so stamped it out a few times, only adhering at the top so the pages could curl up along the bottom.

I stamped my greeting onto my sticky note and cut a Scalloped Circle from My Favourite Things to act as a frame.
I added a balloon attached to string and a further sentiment to some vellum and adhered my elements in place.
I embellished with a tab of ribbon and a scattering of enamel dots and there you have it.

I really hope you like it.
As always, everything I used is linked below.

See you next week.

Chilly Christmas Cheer

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week, I'm spreading some chilly Christmas cheer!

Using Wplus9's All Year Cheer.

I LOVE this set and have got SO much use out of it already as it is so easily adaptable to whichever season or feeling you want to portray.  Since first getting it I have been looking forward to the winter chill kicking in so I could craft a little Robin Red Breast out of the sweet
bird, and eventually got the chance to do that with this, the first of my Christmas cards!

I started by stamping out & heat embossing a ton of the little snowflakes from the All Year Cheer set all across my background then washing a load of watered down purple inks across...which I then pretty much covered completely with a panel of vellum sandwiched between a frame cut from Mama Elephant's Index Card Creative Cuts...but ho-hum haha.  I then inked up, stamped up, and die cut all my small elements- my wee little robin and all the leaves and branches.  I had already embossed my sentiment onto my vellum panel in a gold powder so all that was left to do was build-up my scene up, around and over that.

I added a scattering of pearl drops that I had coloured red with an alcohol marker to act as holly berry accents.
I finished my card by adding a teeny slick of Glossy Accents onto my Robin's beak, and a coat of shimmer onto his wee little tummy.

I really hope you like it.  As always, everything I used is linked below.

See you next week.

Three Bear Party!

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week, I've got a tale of three little bears, and they're looking for a party!

Created using the so so sweet Bitty Bears set from My Favourite Thing's.

I fell in love with these little Bitty Bears as soon as I set eyes on them. Firstly, they are beyond sweet, and secondly, I loved that the open design meant you could create any kinda bear your heart desired from them.  So I decided to go with a whole little soiree of species!

I love the clean and simple design of the Bitty Bears set and really wanted my card to mirror that style so went with a very CAS no-line colour design.

I started by stamping out my little bears all in a row in a very light ink so the outline could be easily covered, then colouring them using pencils as I thought the modest subtle effect would work well
with the style.  I'm not too great at pencil colouring (obviously ha), but I tell you what, I LOVE it and find it so therapeutic.  It is calming and relaxing and I put the enjoyment I get from that way ahead of a perfect result, surely that's what it's all about, right?

Once my bears were finished I added some black pen to make their eyes and noses 'pop', and added a soft blend of pencil across the background.
My sentiment is from the same Bitty Bear set and is heat embossed in white.

As I said, I really wanted to embrace the simple design of the stamps so left my card free from embellishments and with a lot of 'bare' space ;)

I really hope you like it.  As always, everything I used is linked below so be sure to have a peek at which type of bear you see!

See you next week.

Celebrating Seasonal Colours.

Hi everybody,

Jill here, and this week, I'm celebrating the change of seasons and the beautiful colours that come with it.

Using a ton of falling leaves from Lawn Fawn and Newton's Hook.

Autumn is by far my favourite season.  I love the dark nights, I love the coziness, I love my warm clothes but most of all....I love the colours.  It's so magical walking through the park surrounded by vibrant reds and yellows and oranges, it always inspires me to create something.  I treat myself to Newton's Hook Falling Leaves Stencil recently so this was the perfect opportunity to enjoy it.

I started with a panel of watercolour card and blended my palette of autumnal colours over the top.  I then sprayed my background with water to create a softer muted look.  I took Lawn Fawn's Stitched Leaves die and cut a load from watercolour card and coloured them using the same palette blended with water.
While everything was drying I cut Lawn Fawn's Scripty Hello from a piece of card (and white foam to add dimension later), and also an aperture from my cover card using MFT's Scalloped Edged Circles.

I covered my Scripty Hello die-cut in several layers of a gorgeous rich bronze embossing powder to create a delicious, luxurious, shiny, sentiment.
I then built up my scene, bringing it all together with a natural twine bow and a scattering of enamel dots.

I really hope you like it and are enjoying the change in season and getting your winter warmers on as much as I am!

See you next week.
